If you’re like most dog owners, we bet your dog is a huge part of your life and takes part
in as many of your day to day activities as possible! Valentine’s Day should be no exception. Whether your significant other and your furry wingman/woman are already best friends or
are meeting for the first time, our top five date ideas are sure to be a hit.
1. Weekend Getaway
Looking to get away from the hustle and bustle for the weekend? Check yourself, your human
and furry significant other into a hotel in the hillside, or anywhere that accepts dogs! There are
a handful of pet friendly hotels in various out of town locations. Maybe you want a weekend
away to hike and explore or enjoy a small town for some window shopping and lattes. Both are
a great getaway for you, and an even better way to spend some unique time with Fido.
2. Go for a Hike
Unfortunately, Valentine’s Day is right smack in the middle of one of the coldest months of the
year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some time outside. Bundle up, grab a date and
your dog and head out for a winter wonderland hike! Your dog will love being outside and
it’s a nice time for conversation and fresh air. And, you can look forward to a delicious cup
of hot chocolate afterwards!
3. Dog Yoga
Yoga can be a fun, creative and most importantly an indoor date idea, which is ideal with the weather being on the colder side. What is even better is that some yoga studios now allow you
to include your furry best friend or even provide the adorable puppies! So, go get your stretch on!
4. Movie Night
No need to suit up to brave the cold, grab a blanket and order in for an evening cuddled up
on the couch. Snuggling on the couch is almost every dog’s favourite past time, so long as belly
rubes are involved.
5. Indoor Dog Park
Okay, we understand, some of you are just not cut out for the cold! But that doesn’t mean you
can’t get out and about with Fido, and keep your toes and fingers warm. Search indoor dog parks near your home and head to one with your special someone. Or, if you’re single, maybe the cute Frenchie will have an equally as cute human!
Pro Tip: Don’t have a valentine? These ideas are just as fun for two.
